The Scottish Association for Children with
Heart Disorders (SACHD)

Welcome to our web site. Here you can learn all about us, what we stand for, how we operate and most importantly how we support each other.

The web site is packed full of interesting and useful information about our charity that supports children and young adults with congenital heart disorders, and the families.

Please use the navigation bar on the left to direct you to details on what we do as a charity, why we do it, and how we can perhaps help you.

We hope you enjoy reading all about The Scottish Association for Children with Heart Disorders and would warmly invite you to let us know your thoughts about the SACHD web site.

We are a registered charity and run by parents whose own children have heart disorders.

Dates for your diary can be found on our forthcoming events page. Happeniing soon:

The Association has recently taken delivery of a brand new caravan in Faskally Caravan Park. We received a substantial donation from the “Wooden Spoon” charity foundation and a smaller anonymous donation these along with trading in the old caravan paid the cost of the new caravan.

The caravan has three bedrooms, two WC’s a shower, fully fitted kitchen and a spacious comfortable sitting room. It is double glazed throughout and has central heating with radiators in all rooms. The caravan is stunning (see photos on caravan page), very comfortable and will, we are sure, be enjoyed by all who make use of it.

The official opening will take place at 3.30pm on Saturday the 19th May, the Saturday of the family weekend.  There will be nibbles, cake and soft drinks available for all. We invite all members to come along and celebrate with us on the opening of the caravan. The Wooden Spoon will send along a well known rugby dignitary on the day to lend a hand and cut the tape at the opening ceremony.  (*see update below @ 3/5/12)

You can if you wish come along for the day and join with the “weekenders” for their meals and activities, if you do want to join the “weekenders” for the day then please contact Vikki Carpenter at aberdeen@youngheart.info so she can add you to the list at the Atholl Centre etc.

* Update @ 3/5/12 - Unfortunately a Wooden Spoon representative is unable to attend on 19th May, but someone will come along at a later date.  Details will be given when we know more.  The official opening of the caravan will still go ahead as planned.
